Two Sisters Paraview Shiraz 2022, Barossa Valley
14.3 per cent. RRP $70. From the Braunack family’s Paraview vineyard on the western ridge near Tanunda. Roughly half on Stonewell ironstone for depth and black fruit, half on the sandier soils facing the North Para River for lift. Vines 25 to 35 years old, own-rooted 1654. A small Eden Valley component for spice and length. Sixteen months in a mix of old French and American hogsheads plus a portion of new American. No fining.
Deep crimson with a purple core. Black plum and cherry, then black pepper and spice. The lighter soils show in the aromatic lift. Seamless and persistent. Dark fruit on fine tannin. Ironstone soils give the weight; the sandier blocks keep it bright. Long finish. A great 2022 that shows both sites clearly.
Vino Masters Score: 96/100 ★★★★★ Stonewell depth and river-side lift. Black plum, pepper and a fine tannin close. Drinking beautifully now
