Braunack Estate Old Vine Shiraz 2024, Barossa Valley

Braunack Estate Old Vine Shiraz 2024, Barossa Valley

RRP $100. Bottled 16 October 2026. Leon Deans calls this the best Shiraz they have made in more than 15 years. 100 per cent 1654 clone off the ironstone-infused clay of Stonewell. Aged in American and French oak with about 20 per cent new.

Deep, dense crimson. Black plum, blackberry and dark cherry, then liquorice, dark chocolate and a thread of warm spice from the new oak. Full and concentrated. Serious depth from those Stonewell soils, carried by fine grained tannin and enough acid to keep it taut. The new oak adds mocha and structure without covering the fruit. Long, persistent finish. This is the one Braunack Estate have been building toward.

Vino Masters Score: 96/100 ★★★★★ Bold, ripe and full of Barossa flavour. Cellar for ten years.
