1847 Wines First Pick Shiraz 2022, Barossa Valley

Same family as Grand Pappy’s, just a notch less dense. Still plenty of Barossa. Dark plum, blackberry and black cherry, then savoury spice, liquorice, sarsaparilla and a hint of cola. Full and plush. Ripe black fruit with mocha, dark chocolate, cedar and sweet spice. Firm tannin, polished rather than tough, good shape and length. Rich without getting jammy. Youthful now. Even better in a few years.
