Pertaringa Yeoman Shiraz 2024, McLaren Vale

Pertaringa Yeoman Shiraz 2024, McLaren Vale

Pertaringa named the wine for Thomas Hardy, Bec Hardy’s great-great-great-grandfather, who was born in 1830 of yeoman farmer stock.

Deep crimson to inky purple, signalling the concentration to come. The nose is dark and layered, with black cherry, mulberry and ripe plum entwined with dark chocolate and spices.

From 140 year old vines, the palate is full-bodied and richly concentrated, packed with dense black fruits, plum and blackberry. Savoury oak and earthy mineral notes sit underneath. Plush through the middle, with ripe, firm tannins keeping the fruit tightly framed. Liquorice, cocoa, pepper and savoury oak build.

The finish is long carrying black fruit, chocolate and spice well beyond the final sip.

Vino Masters Score: 97/100 ★★★★★ A powerful McLaren Vale Shiraz built to drink now or cellar to 2040.
