Thorn-Clarke ‘Ron Thorn’ Shiraz 2020, Barossa Valley

Thorn-Clarke Wines Ron Thorn Shiraz 2020, Barossa Valley

Big bottle for a big Shiraz. Matured for 20 months in oak, with a minimum of 20 months bottle age before release, this is a seriously impressive red.

Deep, opaque crimson with a purple core. Aromas of blackberry, plum and blueberry are layered with dark chocolate, espresso, cracked pepper, cedar and tea leaf.

The palate is powerful, rich and thick with fruit. Ripe dark berries sit within dense, polished tannins, while chocolate, mocha and savoury spice build through the middle. The oak is well integrated, adding structure without sitting on top of the fruit.

Firm, textural and robust, yet still carrying enough freshness underneath all that weight. The finish is exceptionally long and persistent.

Ron would be super proud.

Vino Masters Score: 98/100 ★★★★★ Dark, dense and built to last.
