Neldner Road ‘The Silesian’ Shiraz 2022

Neldner Road ‘The Silesian’ Shiraz 2022, Barossa Valley

From one of the winemaking greats of the Barossa, expectations are naturally high and this delivers with intent. I mean, who wouldn’t be excited?

Deep, inky purple. A brooding Shiraz, opening with a distinctly feral edge; farmyard, ironstone and earthy notes woven through blackberry, plum, liquorice and dark chocolate, with layers of spice and savoury complexity.

The palate is full-bodied, with dense dark fruit framed by fine, velvety tannins and well-integrated oak. There’s a firm structural core here, giving drive, while cocoa, espresso and spice carry long through the finish. The feral, ironstone character brings a wild, old-vine Barossa feel that sets it apart.

Captivating and full of intent, this is a wine that leans into its personality. Moorish at every level, don’t hold back.
