Jaya SGM 2022 Shiraz Grenache Mataro, Barossa Valley

Jaya SGM 2022 Shiraz Grenache Mataro, Barossa Valley

Winemaker: Corey Ryan. 450 dozen produced. 55% Shiraz, 36% Grenache, 9% Mataro. Not fined, minimal filtration, 15% whole bunch, natural yeasts, matured 6 months in old hogsheads.

Expressive and wonderfully layered, the nose reveals raspberry, blackberry and plum intertwined with dried herbs, spice and earthy savouriness.

The palate is medium to full-bodied and beautifully balanced, with juicy red and dark berry fruit flowing through the entry before fine tannins and savoury spice tighten the frame. Shiraz brings richness and depth, Grenache adds brightness, perfume and silkiness, while Mataro contributes structure, earthy complexity and minerality. The finish is long, smooth and persistent with lingering spices and a solid structure.

Vino Masters Score: 95/100

★★★★★ A vibrant and beautifully integrated blend combining freshness, texture and classic Barossa generosity.
