Cooper Burns 'Livingston' Grenache Shiraz Mataro 2023, Barossa Valley

Cooper Burns 'Livingston' Grenache Shiraz Mataro 2023, Barossa Valley

Deep garnet with a vivid crimson rim. The aroma is bold and savoury, releasing notes of cured meat, cracked pepper, dried herbs and dark cherry, with an earthy, almost iron-like depth that feels distinctly Barossa. There’s a rustic charm here that immediately evokes the old-school butchers of Angaston.

On the palate it is fleshy and beautifully balanced, with dark berry fruit wrapped in savoury, meaty notes and fine, grippy tannins. The wine carries real texture and presence without heaviness, the Grenache bringing brightness while the Shiraz and Mataro add depth and structure. A subtle lick of spice and dried herb lingers through the mid-palate, keeping things lively and complex. The finish is long, savoury and mouthwatering.

Vino Masters Score: 95/100

★★★★★ A rustic yet refined Barossa GSM with serious savoury character and the kind of honest, old-school charm that lingers long after the glass is empty.
