Deep crimson with garnet edges. The colour is still amazingly bright after 48 months in barrel. The nose is immediately dark and savoury, with blackcurrant, blackberry and plum wrapped around mint, dried herbs and toasted cedar. Give it some air and more layers emerge.

The palate is full-bodied and rich. Cabernet drives the wine with cassis, dark fruit and a strong tannin backbone, while Shiraz brings flesh, spice and generosity through the mid palate. The barrel aging has left its mark, with cedar, toast and savoury oak sitting alongside the dark red berry fruits.

There is plenty of power here. The tannins are firm and drying, the fruit dark and concentrated, and the finish long, savoury and persistent.
