Harewood Estate ‘Apricus Hill’ Chardonnay 2024, Denmark, Great Southern, WA
Fermented in a mix of new and second-use French oak. 13.5 per cent.
Bright straw with delicate golden hues. Fragrant aromas of fresh nectarine, white peach and lemon, alongside citrus blossom, toasted cashew and subtle French oak. Coastal Denmark freshness lifts the fruit while the oak adds richness, balancing ripe stone fruit with restrained citrus and nutty character.
Medium to full-bodied and beautifully textured. Peach, nectarine and honeydew melon sit on fresh grapefruit acidity. Creamy notes of vanilla and roasted nuts build through the mid-palate, adding generosity without covering the fruit. The oak is soft, savoury and well integrated, giving depth and cashew nuances while the citrus line keeps it fresh and focused. Long, concentrated and balanced finish of lingering stone fruit, grapefruit and gentle toasted oak. Delicious!
Vino Masters Score: 98/100 ★★★★★ Exceptional textured Denmark Chardonnay. Ripe stone fruit, savoury French oak and coastal acidity.
