After visiting the Tassy wine regions in the early 1990’s, I distinctly remember the 1990 Combend Cabernet Sauvignon which was an absolute dream wine - especially in magnums. This wine takes me right back there!

Deep garnet-crimson. Lifted aromas of blackcurrant, cassis and dark cherry are layered with cedar, bay leaf and dried herbs, while 18 months in oak contributes subtle notes of dark chocolate, cigar box and baking spice. The palate is medium to full-bodied with concentrated black fruit flavours framed by fine, polished tannins and vibrant acidity. Notes of graphite, cocoa and savoury spice build through the palate, adding complexity without overwhelming the fruit.
