The 2018 Block 8 Shiraz is a magnificent expression of what the Gilbert Valley can produce when exceptional land meets six generations of family stewardship. The Hooper family have been farming these rolling Gilbert Valley soils for over 150 years, and winemaker Rod Hooper continues that legacy with absolute conviction. That deep connection to this microclimate shows in every layer of this wine.

Block 8 sits at the pinnacle of Macaw Creek’s portfolio, and this release proves exactly why. The wine is rich, opulent and deeply fruited, overflowing with dark red and black fruits, spice, well-integrated oak, and a vibrant thread of freshness that brings balance, lift and poise. It is powerful yet refined, structured and seamless, with an enormous future ahead.

Only 500 dozen were produced, each bottle sealed with a hand-selected, pristine 49mm cork - mine showing not the slightest stain, a testament to meticulous detail with decades to run.
