Fetherstone Pyrenees Syrah 2021

Fetherstone Pyrenees Syrah 2021

A lifted wild ferment bouquet opens with red currant and fresh strawberry, layered with forest floor, hayseed straw and an incense-like complexity drawn from a subtle sulfide nuance. Liquorice notes add depth and savoury intrigue.

Medium-bodied and finely detailed, the palate is supple and composed, echoing the aromatics with gentle, seamless flow.

Fine-grained tannins shape the wine without dominance, while a saline edge and mineral line drive the finish. Notes of rhubarb pie glide across the palate, adding savoury length and interest. Slightly feral (which we love) and thoughtfully managed, this is a compelling Syrah that balances nuance with presence, delivering both immediate drinking pleasure and the substance to develop gracefully over time.

Vino Masters Score: 95 / 100

★★★★★: A serious, site-driven Syrah with the structure and balance
