The Cirillo Black Label Shiraz 2024 is a deeply evocative expression of Barossa Shiraz, drawn from vines planted in 1848 and shaped by restraint, savoury complexity and site-driven character.

In the glass, it is inky and opaque. The nose is compelling: liquorice bullet, dark red fruits lead, followed by dried herbs, black spice and subtle ironstone notes. With air, the aromatic profile continues to evolve, revealing new layers with each swirl.

The palate is firm, rustic and composed, anchored by blackcurrant and dark plum fruit, framed by savoury oak and a fine thread of red bean bitterness that extends flavour and tension. There is a measured sweet-and-sour interplay, recalling the more restrained, savoury expressions of top Barossa Shiraz rather than sheer power.
