The nose bursts with bright strawberry and raspberry compote, lifted by hints of rose petal, There is a perfumed vibrancy here that pulls you straight in.
On the palate, it’s silky and juicy, brimming with flavours of wild strawberry, ripe cherry, cranberry and redcurrant. A touch of spice and dried herbs adds complexity.
The tannins are fine-boned and polished, gently framing the fruit before tapering to a long, mouthwatering finish of cranberry and pomegranate.
This wine is bright, pure, energetic and finely structured, and one of my favourites from the Clare Valley. The Cellar door is only open on weekends and is worth a visit.
