Ulithorne ‘Singularis’ Grenache 2024, Blewitt Springs

In the world there are great people and great wines. I love both, especially the caring ones.

This wine has a special place on Vino Masters because of the kindness shown to our family after the loss of our son, Ollie G. A care pack arrived with a bottle of ‘Singularis’ Grenache in it, and it meant more than they probably realised.

Vines planted in 1965 on sandy clay loam in Blewitt Springs. Hand picked, basket pressed, 10 months in French oak. Cork. Wax sealed.

Plush and full, yet elegant and pure. A tapestry of cherry and ruby-red fruit across the palate, then delicate spice and finely woven savoury characters. Gentle and fresh. Texture soft as silk. Tannin refined. Fruit still vibrant. The oak adds a little structure without taking anything from the Grenache. Presence, and grace. Long, smooth finish of red fruit, spice and fine savouriness.
