Angove Family Winemakers Angels Rise Nebbiolo 2024, McLaren Vale

Vineyard: Sourced from just 0.25ha of Nebbiolo planted in the Angove Family’s Angels Rise Vineyard, high above Clarendon at over 280m elevation.

Winemaking: Harvested on 15 April, gently destemmed and fermented in small open-top fermenters. The wine spent four months on skins before basket pressing on 15 August into François Frères barrique, adding structure, complexity and balance.

Bright garnet with youthful ruby hues. Aromas of rose petal, red cherry and cranberry are layered with orange peel, dried herbs and subtle anise. The palate is medium-bodied with vibrant red berry fruit framed by firm, fine-grained tannins and lively natural acidity. Hints of sour cherry, savoury herbs and delicate oak bring depth and precision before a moreish finish.
