A serious and beautifully composed Wilyabrup Cabernet Sauvignon, sourced from Driftwood Estate’s Block 06 and Block 14 vineyards, planted on the free-draining gravelly slopes of the estate, just a stone’s throw from the Indian Ocean.

Deep blackberry, cassis and blackcurrant lead the way, joined by dark cherry, dried herbs and a subtle leafy lift. There’s plenty of classic Margaret River Cabernet character here, with graphite, cedar, tobacco and savoury spice adding complexity.

The palate is powerful yet controlled, showing excellent concentration without becoming heavy. Fine, firm tannins provide shape and length, while the fruit remains vibrant and poised. Eighteen months in French oak, with only 12 of the best barrels selected for the final blend, brings polish, cedar and gentle toast without overwhelming the fruit. It already drinks impressively, although its balance and tannin profile suggest there is plenty more to come with time in the cellar.
