Z Wines [ROHRLACH] Survivor Vine Greanche 2025, Barossa Valley

Z Wines [ROHRLACH] Survivor Vine Grenache 2025, Barossa Valley

Rustic yet elegant from the first pour. Unctuous red raspberry and strawberry lead, joined by red cherry, cola, sarsaparilla, dark chocolate, cloves and a thread of Indian Five Spice. There’s a quiet, unhurried character here, speaking of a time and a place.

The palate is mesmerising. Fine acidity threads through the mid-palate, carrying those juicy red fruits over soft, settled tannins. Onion skin and a distinct Murray salt sea-flake salinity appear on the lips, adding intrigue and length. Gentle oak maturation pulls everything together without fuss. Nothing force; just ripe fruit, spice, saline lift and a calm, lingering finish that keeps calling you back.

One of a kind. Unique, addictive and quietly wonderful. Old vines, slightly shaded and out of the spotlight, doing what they do best.

Vino Masters Score: 96/100 ★★★★★ A truly singular old-vine Barossa Grenache; unctuous, elegant and utterly intriguing
