Alkina Stonefire Shiraz 2025, Barossa Valley

Alkina Stonefire Shiraz 2025, Barossa Valley

Crimson with purple flashes. This is a different style of Barossa Shiraz; raw, with solids, red fruits and real minerality. Fermented with whole bunches and matured in concrete eggs rather than oak, so the fruit stays pure and the texture is distinctive.

Dark plum, black cherry and boysenberry on the nose, lifted by baking spice, earthy notes, cardamom, clove, dried herbs and violets. The palate is medium-bodied with vivid forest-fruit flavours, fine sandy tannins and lively acidity. It finishes long and savoury, with lingering spiced-plum and earthy characters, and a soft velvety edge.

Less about big oak or jammy fruit, more perfumed, spicy and structured. Still tightly wound, needs time but already impressive. Drink now to 2046.

Vino Masters Score: 95/100 ★★★★★ A fragrant, savoury and finely textured Barossa Shiraz that puts site and freshness first.
