The nose is classic bold McLaren Vale Shiraz,  a powerful wave of blackberry, mulberry and dark plum compote, interwoven with dark chocolate, mocha, cedar, and sweet vanilla oak. Lifted notes of cracked black pepper, star anise, clove and a subtle eucalypt/mint edge add complexity and regional character.

On the palate, this is a full-bodied, opulent Shiraz with impressive fruit density and drive. Layers of ripe black fruits, liquorice and dark berry compote dominate, supported by savoury spice, smoky oak and a touch of graphite/mineral undertone. The tannins are fine, chalky and beautifully integrated, providing structure and grip without overwhelming the fruit. Excellent acidity keeps the wine fresh and balanced, leading to a long, powerful finish that echoes with dark fruit, spice and a lingering savoury tail.

A rich, decadent yet surprisingly refined expression of McLaren Vale Shiraz, the kind of wine that screams for a big steak or slow-cooked lamb shoulder. From the esteemed Blewitt Springs sub-region, this vintage shows excellent potential.
