Hewitson Mourvèdre Ungrafted 2025, Barossa Valley

Own-roots fruit, hand-picked, whole-bunch fermented in open vats, then old French barrels. Deep crimson with youthful purple. Ripe blackberry, dark plum and blueberry, then violet, liquorice, cracked pepper and earthy spice.

Full and richly textured. Concentrated dark fruit over firm, finely grained tannin. Blackberry and plum through the mid-palate, then savoury spice, dark chocolate and a little dried herb. Bright acid under the weight. Long, zippy finish.
