The Moppity Escalier Vineyard was planted in 1973 and is perched at high altitude in cool Southern NSW. Under the ownership of Jason and Alecia Brown since 2004, this vineyard has emerged as one of the brightest stars in Australian Shiraz history, claiming trophies and gold medals across Australia and beyond. The wines speak elequantly of a time and a place, revealing harmonious union of power and elegance.
Winner of the Australian Shiraz Challenge Deep garnet with crimson-red hues. Aromas of blackberry, plum and dried dark fruits are layered with notes of spice, leather, cedar and subtle earthiness.
The palate is medium-bodied, delivering fruit of plum and blackberry supported by fine, resolved tannins. Soft, silky and supple with gentle red cherry fruits, mint and bay leaf tannins supported by savoury complexity through the mid-palate, finishing long, smooth and complex.
