Patritti Section 181 Grenache, Tatachilla Single Vineyard, McLaren Vale 2025

Patritti Section 181 Grenache, Tatachilla Single Vineyard, McLaren Vale 2025

A mesmerising and deeply individual Grenache that feels strikingly Rhône-like, yet unmistakably rooted in its own McLaren Vale site, circa 1962.

This is not just varietal expression; it is a wine that genuinely speaks of place. The nose draws you in with earthy red fruits, wild raspberry, cherry skin, red plum, dried herbs, subtle spice and mineral.

The palate is superbly textured, layered and quietly powerful, with delicious red-fruited minerality running through the core. There is depth here, but also lift and detail. It is red fruited and savoury, earthy and beautifully composed, with a moorish quality that keeps pulling you back. As it opens, a unique dark-fruited note rises on the finish, adding another dimension to the wine’s already compelling personality.

The tannins are ubiquitous yet finely woven, present across the palate without dominating, giving the wine shape, grip and persistence.

Vino Masters Score: 98/100

★★★★★ This is Grenache of real atmosphere: deep, textural, expressive and utterly unique. A rare wine that feels alive in the glass.
