Orlando Lawsons Shiraz 2013 Padthaway

Orlando Lawsons Shiraz 2013 Padthaway

Now with over a decade of bottle age, this Shiraz is entering a graceful and expressive stage of maturity.

The bouquet reveals layered red fruits interwoven with savoury complexity. Notes of dried cherry and red plum are complemented by leather strap, olive tapenade and subtle earth-derived nuances. The oak has integrated seamlessly over time, contributing warmth, spice and textural depth.

On the palate, the wine is beautifully composed. Mature red fruits and savoury elements are framed by fine, persistent tannins that still carry impressive structure. Hints of liquorice bullet and dark olive linger through a long, satisfying finish. The oak influence adds richness and a velvety texture, enhancing both length and balance.

For a 13-year-old Shiraz, it is drinking superbly now, fully evolved yet retaining vitality and structure. Lamb roast please!
