Deep crimson in the glass with a vibrant purple rim, this wine immediately signals its youth and pedigree.
The nose is highly aromatic and concentrated with lifted red forest berries, cassis, and ripe mulberry lead, supported by layers of violets, graphite, cedar, and subtle sweet spice.
On the palate, it’s plush and powerful, yet elegant. A core of dark berry fruit is wrapped in fine-grained tannins and balanced by fresh acidity. Hints of tobacco leaf, dark chocolate, and clove add complexity and length. The finish is long, smooth, and velvety.
“We tasted this blind at T-Chow alongside top-tier Bordeaux, Château Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande 2022 and Château Léoville Barton 2020 (both retailing over A$200) plus others, and the Brand & Sons Coonawarra Cabernet was the standout of the night. A superb example of modern Australian Cabernet that delivers serious structure and finesse”.
