Dark currant, white pepper and spice, more Grampians than fat Barossa. Earth and minerality, raspberry and darker fruit, a lot going on. Maverick wines bring the intrigue.

Deep purple with a crimson rim. Blackberry, ripe plum and dark cherry, then pepper, liquorice, violet and subtle cedar.

Full and generous once it opens. Dense fruit, polished tannin, balanced acid. Oak for soft touch of mocha and spice, fruit still in front. Long finish of dark fruit, earth and savoury spice.
