Primitivo as I know it: blue flower and a liquorice bullet. Lavender, savoury dark chocolate, liquorice. This has all of that. Savoury tannin, a little mid-palate fruit sweetness, earthy finish. Charcoal octopus or goat curry.

Deep ruby with purple. Ripe cherry and plum, then vanilla, spice and dark berry. Blue floral lift if you look for it.

Full and velvety. Generous red and black fruit, soft tannin, balanced acid. Gentle spice through the middle. Smooth, persistent finish of ripe fruit, liquorice and savoury spice. Easy to like. Enough grip to handle the grill.
