This is not the pretty, pale Grenache. It’s full-bodied, ripe and rich. Dark currants, loads of pepper and spice, and French oak complexity sitting right in it.
Bright enough in the glass, then it fills the mouth. Generous dark fruit, mouthfilling, big and robust. Pepper and spice run through the middle, oak adding weight without turning it sweet. Fine tannin, enough acid to hold the ripeness. Long, spicy finish. It will not win the Grenache class. It will win the people who want a ripe style, a robust meal, and a proper argument at the table.
