Glenlofty Estate Cabernet Sauvignon 2019, Pyrenees

Glenlofty sits in an elevated valley on the southern edge of the Pyrenees, about 340 metres up, on ancient granitic soils and mixed slopes. Cool days, cold nights, a long season. Intensity without the heat. Cabernet here comes out savoury as much as ripe.

Seven years on and the mature side is showing.

Deep crimson with brick-red tones. Blackcurrant, blackberry and dark plum, then cedar, tobacco, graphite and dried herb.

Full and concentrated. Rich cassis, firm tannin, balanced acid. Oak bringing savoury spice and a little chocolate. Long, structured finish.
