Alkoomi Family Collection Chardonnay 2025, Frankland River

Alkoomi Family Collection Chardonnay 2025, Frankland River, Western Australia

Alkoomi is one of the true pioneers of Western Australia’s Frankland River region, with vines first planted in 1971 by the Lange family, helping to establish the area as a source of purity and balance. Family-owned since the 1940s, the estate has long been known for producing honest, site-driven wines with a strong regional identity. I still recall selling Alkoomi back in the mid-1990s during my time at Philip Murphy - the wines consistently delivered quality, value and varietal clarity, and it’s great to see that same philosophy and reliability still evident today.

The Wine

Pale straw with green highlights. The aroma is highly lifted with hints of almond meal, alongside aromas of peach, lemon-lime, stone fruit, and gunflint complemented by subtle cashews.

The palate is medium-bodied and refined, delivering fruit of white peach and lemon supported by crisp acidity. A gentle creamy texture and fine oak integration build through the mid-palate, finishing clean, balanced and persistent.

Vino Masters Score: 95 / 100
