Fruit from vines planted in 1947 on the Blewitt Springs vineyard, 19 months in French oak. Deep crimson with a dense purple core. Blackberry, dark plum and black cherry, then violet and liquorice.

Deep, dark and classic McLaren Vale. Bold blackcurrant, oak spice, Christmas cake and savoury tannin. Full and concentrated. Plush dark fruit on fine-grained tannin and balanced acid. Oak brings mocha, cedar and a savoury edge, and leaves the fruit in front. Long, powerful finish. Big bold blackberry at the end.
