Brini Estate Limited Release Shiraz 2016, McLaren Vale

Brini have grown grapes in Blewitt Springs since 1953, and the thumbprint is consistent. Full of flavour, dark fruit, rich oak tannin, and thoroughly enjoyable. The 2016 is another outstanding example.

Deep purple with inky hues. Blackberry, dark plum and black cherry, then liquorice, dark chocolate, vanillin cedar and spicy mocha. Rich and dense, and still supple. Plush ripe fruit on fine-grained tannin and balanced acid. French oak adds depth and extra dimensions. Expansive, smooth, velvety finish. Fruit off the 70-year-old single vineyard. Drinking beautifully now. Rich and bold.
