Vines planted in 1955. Maturation in one year old French and American oak barrels for 18 months.

Deep crimson with developing ruby hues. Ripe blackberry, dark cherry and plum, then coffee, cedar, liquorice and warm spice.

The fruit is dark and luxurious. Ripe, full and richly textured. Generous dark fruit on silky tannin and balanced acid. Oak is in, adding savoury and spicy complexity. Eight years on, the fruit has settled and the depth is there. Long finish of dark berry, coffee and spice.
