Mary Davine Shiraz 2022 Barossa Valley

Mary Davine Barossa Shiraz 2022

Tasting Note:
Opaque, inky crimson with profound depth. The bouquet is immediately assertive, led by pronounced oak influence; cedar, vanilla pod and savoury spice layered over dark blackberry, black plum and black cherry. The oak presence is unmistakable sitting confidently at the forefront.

The palate follows suit, delivering dense, mouth-filling dark fruit wrapped in obvious, structural oak. There is power and intent here: rich flavour concentration, firm acidity and long, grainy tannins working in unison to provide shape and longevity. The oak drives both texture and length, extending the wine through a long, authoritative finish. This is a Shiraz built unapologetically in a bold, traditional Barossa style; assertive, structured and designed for the long haul.

Vino Masters Score: 96 / 100

A powerful, oak-driven Barossa Shiraz of scale, structure and conviction.

★★★★★ Outstanding: bold, structured and unapologetically traditional

Drink now and cellar to 2038

Further Notes:

Crafted by Richard Sheedy and Mary Sheedy, whose foundations were shaped during the formative years of the Barossa under Bob McLean at St Hallett; a training ground synonymous with discipline, structure and the pursuit of longevity, exemplified by icons such as Old Block Shiraz. That influence lives on and is evident in all Mary Davine Wines.
