Deep garnet with slight brick-red hue. The colour is still super bright for a 12 year old wine. Aromas of blackberry, black cherry and dark plum are layered with cedar, leather, tobacco leaf and subtle earthy spice. The palate is rich and mature, with concentrated dark fruit supported by beautifully resolved tannins and integrated oak. Savoury tertiary characters of black currants, dried herbs, liquorice and dark chocolate add considerable complexity, while balanced acidity maintains freshness and structure. The finish is long and persistent with lingering dark fruit, leather and spice.
