David & Nadia Hoë-Steen Chenin Blanc 2024, Swartland (14% Alc Vol)
David & Nadia Hoë-Steen Chenin Blanc 2024, Swartland (14% Alc Vol)
From 1968 old vines on deep iron-rich clay soils. Extremely limited (around 900–1,000 bottles) after wind reduced yields. Whole-bunch pressed and aged in old French oak.
Richer and more powerful than usual: golden and yellow fruit, apple, peach, fennel, lemon rind and herbal spice with stony, saline depth. Full, almost viscous texture yet vivid acidity and a long, dry, savoury finish. Muscular but precise.
Vino Masters Score: 96 / 100
★★★★★ A standout single-vineyard Chenin of real presence and density.
RRP: $180
