Burge Family Winemakers Reserve Draycott Shiraz 2023, Barossa Valley

Deep, opaque crimson with vibrant purple hues. Aromas of blackberry, black plum and blueberry are layered with dark chocolate, liquorice, espresso and subtle cedar. The palate is full-bodied and richly concentrated, delivering generous dark fruit supported by firm tannins and beautifully integrated oak. Notes of mocha, cocoa and savoury spice build through the mid-palate, while balanced acidity provides freshness and definition beneath the richness. At 15% Alc Vol, the finish is long, powerful and persistent, carrying dark berry, pepper and chocolate characters. One of the best 2023 Barossa Shiraz in my book.
