Peter Drayton Wildstreak Tyrian 2024, Hunter Valley
Tyrian is a red wine grape variety developed by the CSIRO in Australia, specifically bred by crossing Sumoll and Cabernet Sauvignon. It produces a full-bodied, deep-red wine known for its high colour intensity, berry fragrance, and spicy fruit flavours.
Super deep crimson with purple hues.
The nose is rich and aromatic, showing ripe plum, blackberry and dark cherry supported by notes of spice, cocoa and gentle oak. A subtle savoury complexity adds further depth.
Medium to full-bodied, the palate is generous and smooth with dark fruit concentration supported by soft, rounded tannins. Layers of plum, blackberry and spice unfold through the mid-palate, finishing long and balanced.
