The pre-bottling sample was a good indication of the direction this wine was going, but the finished wine is a true delight. It’s breathtakingly good!
Brilliant cherry plum red in colour.
The aromatics are as long and flowing as the day, with the fresh plum and cherry fruit and a fine graphite edge. There is immediate clarity, energy and lift on the aromatics.
The palate is super luxurious and vibrant, delivering crunchy red forest berries, subtle stalky characters and faint herbal edges, layered with darker red fruit depth. A compelling yin and yang emerges, where tangy acidity is beautifully balanced by clove spice, firm tannins with the whole-bunch influence bringing extra depth and complexity. The wine carries an excellent umami intensity, finishing mouthwatering, long and precise.
