Soul Growers Kleinig Single Vineyard Shiraz 2024, Barossa Valley

Soul Growers Kleinig Single Vineyard Shiraz 2024, Barossa Valley

Sourced from a Kleinig family vineyard planted in the 1920s, this remarkable Shiraz comes from a geographical meeting point between Ebenezer, Koonunga and Moppa in the northern Barossa. The old vines and diverse tapestry of soils give the wine impressive power and a strong sense of place. It’s close to home and I love it!

Deep crimson with vibrant purple hues. Blackberry, satsuma plum, black cherry and blueberry aromas are layered with dark chocolate, licorice, cracked black pepper and subtle French oak. The fruit is powerful, concentrated, and pure, reflecting this lovingly tended single-vineyard site.

The palate is full-bodied and luscious, with richly concentrated blue, black and red fruits wrapped around firm yet exceptionally fine, velvety tannins. Cocoa, star anise, cedar and savoury spice add depth, while balanced acidity keeps the wine composed and energetic. The finest French oak provides structure. Long, polished and intensely flavoured, this is a wine that speaks clearly of its ancient vines, northern Barossa soils and the Kleinig family who have cared for them for generations.

Vino Masters Score: 98/100

★★★★★ An outstanding single-vineyard Shiraz of immense power, purity and distinction, capturing the history and exceptional character of the northern Barossa.
