Z Wine 'August' Old Vine Basket Pressed Grenache 2023, Barossa Valley

This is pure Barossa Grenache at its best. The aroma is fragrant and inviting, with red cherry, musk and subtle spice rising from the glass.

On the palate it is beautifully poised and elegant, with bright red cherry fruit and fine, silky tannins giving lovely shape and texture. Notes of cranberry and musk add a savoury lift, while the wine carries through to a long, mouthwatering and moreish finish. There is real energy and freshness here, with excellent balance and drinkability.

I have been lucky enough to visit the Z Wine cellar door to taste previous vintages, and this 2023 continues the very high standard.
