Full and rustic. Dark fruit, liquorice, meaty savoury notes and ripe tannin. Whisky-barrel spice and warmth, a slightly firm, tough edge on the finish. Plenty of flavour. Plenty of personality. Wants food. Chargrilled steak off the grill.

A very good pub-by-the-glass wine. Generous, savoury and easy to understand.
