Two Sisters The Fritz Shiraz Mourvèdre Grenache 2024, Barossa Valley
Two Sisters The Fritz Shiraz Mourvèdre Grenache 2024, Barossa Valley
A masterful Shiraz/Mourvèdre-predominant blend from an ironstone ridge just west of Tanunda. Planted around 1960, the Mourvèdre and Grenache remain true bush vines, while the Shiraz is trained on a low single-wire Australian sprawl. Limited irrigation has been introduced in recent years, yet the original bush-vine character remains.
Showcasing the distinctive ironstone soils, ‘The Fritz’ marries the depth of Shiraz with the aromatic complexity of Mourvèdre and the vibrant fruit of Grenache. Medium to dark garnet in colour, it opens with lifted black pepper and clove spice intertwined with blueberry, black plum and liquorice, complemented by savoury charcuterie notes. The palate is medium to full-bodied, textured and complex, delivering generous dark fruit flavours framed by fine tannins and a firm, savoury finish that balances the wines overall bold richness.
Vino Masters Score: 95/100 ★★★★★A structured and classic Barossa blend, savoury and full of character.
